There are two local shops where you will be able to buy basic food roughly 2 to 3 miles away. The closest shop is the community shop in Llanarmon-yn-Ial and can be found in the centre of the village opposite the Church. Opening hours are Mon-Fri 7:30am-5:30pm, Sat 8am-4pm, Sun 9am-2pm. Treuddyn Convenience Store and Post Office is open 7 00 am to 20 00 pm seven days a week. There’s also a small Co-op in Leeswood a little further away which also has a cashpoint machine.
The nearest supermarkets can be found in Mold, about 7 miles away (15 minutes’ drive). Here you will find Tesco’s Superstore and Petrol Station, Lidl, ALDI and The Co-op.
The nearest petrol station is an Applegreen Garage at Pontblyddyn which is 5 miles away. It doubles as a convenience store and has a free cashpoint machine.
The nearest pub is The Rose and Crown in Graianrhyd – 2-minute drive or 10 minutes' walk. This is a basic pub but is very friendly and has a roaring fire. It is renowned for its real Ales (The Rose has been in the CAMRA Good Pub Guide for over 25 years running!). The landlord is Rod, a very friendly Scotsman. Opening hours are Tue-Fri 4 pm to 11 pm, Sat & Sun midday to 11 pm. Since Covid, Rod has a restricted food menu where he's serving basket meals on a Saturday and a Sunday between 12:00 & 5.30pm.
